Curriculum and Testing

Curriculum and Learning Standards

Curriculum is the planned content, materials, resources and activities used to meet educational objectives for students. The Ohio Department of Education has created standards for students in Math, English Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, Visual Arts and World Languages. These standards, as a whole, are referred to as Ohio's Learning Standards. Trimble Local School District provides textbooks and curriculum materials that are aligned to the Ohio Learning Standards.  Students in grades 3-11 take mandated state tests over academic subjects during the year to ensure the state standards are being taught. Teachers use and create pacing guides to make certain all standards are covered over the course of the year. Trimble Local School District also uses the Ohio Improvement Process to monitor student assessment data and make decisions based on student needs. If you have any questions about curriculum, testing, or the Ohio Improvement Process, please contact Diane Hobson at 740-767-2810 or at diane.hobson@trimblelocalschools.org
